smartmicro's Wrong-Way Driving detection feature tested by Cross

The results made the team proud of the technology: all vehicles driving in the wrong detection were detected.

Creating innovative technology is just the first step to increasing road safety. It must be tested in as many situations and environments as possible to ensure its performance further develops.

The Czech company Cross has run a series of wrong-way driving detection tests on two smartmicro sensor models: the 24GHz UMRR-11 Type 45 and the 77GHR UMRR-11 Type 132. The Cross technical experts set up smartmicro's devices at a total of six locations, and a weigh-in-motion system monitored their detection accuracy.

The results made the team proud of the technology: all vehicles driving in the wrong detection were detected. With an impressively low false alarm rate of less than 0.001%, our radar sensors ensure minimal disruptions to traffic flow while providing real-time alerts for immediate action. Once more, the tests proved that the long range of the sensors allows early detection, enabling authorities to take preventive measures and respond promptly.

At smartmicro, we prioritize user-friendly systems and simplified maintenance procedures, enabling traffic operators to maximize operational efficiency while ensuring safer roads.
