smartmicro is a proud member of the foundation, sharing our know-how and state-of-the-art technology within.

The Autoware Foundation is a non-profit organization working on making self-driving mobility more accessible for everyone. As this is a goal we have in common, smartmicro is a proud member of the foundation, sharing our know-how and state-of-the-art technology within.

DRVEGRD 169, smartmicro’s 79 GHz (76 GHz to 81GHz) corner radar, is an excellent example of a technology supporting enablement of autonomous applications. This radar has various selectable software-defined operation modes, antennas, and frequencies, to perfectly cover the field of view for each individual use case.

Our automotive radars offer a reliable 360° coverage around fast-moving vehicles necessary to ensure safety in the areas that are hard to observe for the driver. smartmicro is also offering ROS support/ROS drivers for easier customer integration of the radar sensors, including a ready-to-run real-time display in ROS.

The Autoware Foundation has recognized the value of smartmicro technology and mentioned it in their latest newsletter. If you’d like to learn more about smartmicro’s DRVEGRD 169, check the radar’s page here (click)
