Seamless Tracking in Real-World Use: smartmicro at IMSA 2025

At IMSA 2025, smartmicro’s radar-based seamless tracking technology impressed with real-world performance, highlighting how traffic engineers can follow vehicles from entry to exit through complex intersections.

At this year’s IMSA Forum & Expo in Cleveland, Ohio, visitors got an up-close look at smartmicro’s seamless tracking in action. In a video interview created by Applied Information Inc., Jason Robinson, a member of our US team, explained how this powerful technology supports smarter, safer traffic operations.

“Knowing origin to destination gives us the full picture of what is happening on the intersection,” said Jason.

Seamless tracking—already a proven feature across smartmicro installations—combines input from up to four radar sensors into one unified object list. This enables continuous, high-resolution tracking of every vehicle through the entire intersection, including lane changes, turns, and exits. It gives traffic engineers the insight they need to improve intersection safety, signal timing, and long-term traffic planning.

Also present at the show was Nathan Smith, another key member of our US team, ready to dive deeper into how radar can replace outdated detection technologies with smarter, scalable solutions.
