Meet smartmicro's extra-long-range automotive radar. DRVEGRD 171, introduced with three different waveform modes, has a range of 0.2m to a maximum of 240m. Its wide beam provides a 100° field of view, and excellent angular separation of 2° in all available modes. The radar assures an outstanding detection for front applications on autonomous shuttles and taxis or industrial vehicles.
Designed for ASIL-B compliance, the sensor enables the integration into safety systems and meets the challenges of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and the L2+ autonomous vehicles market. It fills the gap between state-of-the-art ADAS radars and 4D imaging radar sensors, at an attractive cost.

ANGULAR SEPARATION IN AZIMUTH
DRVEGRD 171 has an azimuth accuracy of typically 0.25° as well as true angular separation of two targets with the same radial distance and the same radial speed with a difference in azimuth angle of as little as 2°.

INCREASED PRECISION
All 6 transmitting (TX) antennas of DRVEGRD 171 work simultaneously. The radar transmits patented AB MIMO waveforms to achieve much higher precision in angle direct unambiguous Doppler measurement.

FUNCTIONAL SAFETY
Designed to comply with ISO26262, DRVEGRD 171 will be fit for ASIL-B applications.

Autonomous Vehicles & Delivery Robots
Delivery robots can be equipped with high-precision radars - such as DRVEGRD 171. In short-range mode, DRVEGRD 171 detects objects at distances of 20cm to 40m DRVEGRD 171 data delivered in real-time enables the vehicle to avoid collision and optimize its route.

Industrial Vehicles
DRVEGRD 171, allows for improving the safety of operating in and around heavy machinery. Vehicles such as trucks, excavators, bulldozers, or similar require a longer time to come to a stop. An obstacle needs to be detected from a far distance to avoid a potential collision.
The extra-long range of DRVEGRD 171 allows the vehicle to detect obstacles from as far as 240m, enabling an appropriate reaction in time.

Autonomous Shuttles & Taxis
Automotive radars enable a high level of autonomy for such vehicles. DRVEGRD 171 uses the latest Pixel-High Definition (PxHD) technology. It provides 4D Object Tracking with near-imaging radar resolution, aiming to increase the safety of vulnerable road users in the city environment. With its high precision in detecting obstacles - both static and moving - the sensor fulfills the most demanding applications.
