smartmicro sensors enabling autonomous driving

When it comes to autonomous mobility and safety, reference to different levels of automated driving is usually made. Each level requires a certain level of sensor performance and safety features.

At smartmicro we provide automotive radar sensors suitable for up to Level 4 autonomous driving.

Levels 1 & 2: Integrated in the vehicle, our sensors enable Advanced Driver Assistance Systems to support the driver with applications like Lane Change Assist (LCA), Automated Emergency Braking (AEB), and Front/Rear Collision Warning (FCW/RCW).

Levels 3 & 4: For these levels, the vehicle is in charge and the driver is only considered as backup. For this extent of automation, smartmicro sensors can be connected via sensor fusion for 360-degree applications. Covering the entire surroundings of the vehicle, our radars support Automated Driving Systems (ADS), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), and Automated Valet Parking (AVP).

Today, full automation (Level 5) is already being explored with on-road vehicles like autonomous delivery robots or driverless subways. At smartmicro we also continuously work on enabling the technology of the future today.
