This is one of several test sites which ALP.Lab GmbH has equipped with smartmicro radars. The sensors are used to collect data of vulnerable road users including pedestrians, bicyclists as well as of motorized traffic: vehicles and public transports such as trams. ALP.Lab monitors and analyzes real world traffic maneuvers at complex intersections. The aim is to improve traffic safety and to generate training data for the development of automated driving functions and autonomous vehicles (ADAS/AD).

The sensors operate 24 hours, 365 days independent of light conditions and under adverse weather conditions (winter in Austria typically sees a lot of snow and fog).
