Adaptive Traffic Control for a Major Theme Park
Theme Park Case Study

What happens to the surrounding road network when thousands of visitors arrive at or leave a major theme park within a short period of time? 🚦🎢

At a major theme park in the southeastern United States, an adaptive traffic signal control system helps manage these changing demand patterns across multiple interconnected intersections.

More than 25 smartmicro TRUGRD Stream radar sensors provide the real-time vehicle data required for adaptive operation. Additional sensors on selected approaches detect vehicles farther upstream, while COM HUB units and SDLC modules connect the detection infrastructure with the existing traffic signal controllers.
The project involved more than supplying hardware. smartmicro also supported sensor positioning, installation review, configuration, training, testing, and commissioning throughout the corridor. The result is a reliable detection foundation that enables signal timing to respond continuously to actual traffic demand.

How does the complete solution support traffic management along this busy theme park access corridor? 🎢
