Our headquarters are located in Braunschweig, Germany — but our mindset is international.

Besides daily cooperations with two international subsidiaries (smartmicro US and smartmicro UK), we work with customers and partners all over the world, and our teams reflect this diversity. Different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences come together in our daily work.

English is an important part of our communication, especially in international teams and projects.

At smartmicro, development is hands-on. Hardware, software, and system testing come together in an environment designed for real engineering work.

Our teams have access to advanced testing and development infrastructure, including:

• Large-scale antenna measurement chambers — among the biggest in northern Germany
• RF development and measurement equipment for frequencies up to 110 GHz
• Dedicated sensor qualification labs for long-term and stress testing
• Automotive test facilities for real-world validation and calibration
• Environmental and EMC test chambers for reliability and compliance

This allows you to not only design and develop systems — but to test, validate, and refine them under real-world conditions.

At the same time, we create an environment where people feel comfortable working together.
Shared spaces encourage exchange, whether for a quick discussion or a break during the day. Fresh fruit, coffee, and drinks are always available, and indoor and outdoor areas offer space to recharge.

We follow an office-first approach, as we believe that direct interaction and close collaboration are key to solving complex technical challenges. Remote work is possible on a limited basis, depending on your role and current projects. At the same time, working hours are structured to allow flexibility within the day.

This continues beyond day-to-day tasks. We come together at regular team events and informal gatherings, creating space for both professional and personal interaction — whether during a break, over coffee, or at one of our internal events.

A good example of this is our quarterly “Cake Round”, where the entire company comes together for updates, exchange, and, of course, cake.

Sustainability is a central part of what we do.

Our products help reduce emissions by improving traffic efficiency — but we also take responsibility as a company. From energy-efficient buildings and solar power to electric charging infrastructure, we continuously work to reduce our environmental footprint.

We actively engage with young talent and support early interest in technology.
As part of initiatives such as “Zukunftstag”, we regularly invite students to visit smartmicro, gain insights into our work, and experience engineering in practice.
