Sensors for Mobile Speed Enforcement

How can sensor technology support law enforcement? For example, via a speed-measuring radar mounted directly onto a police car.

How can sensor technology support law enforcement? For example, via a speed-measuring radar mounted directly onto a police car.

Cyber-Sheriff, created by Arsenal 67, is a multifunctional #MobileSpeedEnforcement (MSE) device built into the police car light bar. It aims to increase road safety by detecting vehicles violating traffic regulations.

One of its key components is smartmicro’s sensor - the UMRR-11 Type 132 MSE - precisely measuring the velocity of all vehicles within its field of view (in a world coordinate system). The measurement results are independent of the police car movement - the sensor measures the ego speed of the police car with certified accuracy plus the positions and speed of all vehicles around it, and delivers precise absolute velocity data. It performs both while the police car is driving, and when parked alongside the road.
