We are proud to announce that smartmicro’s newest automotive radars - DRVEGRD 152 and DRVEGRD 169 - are now in production and available in numbers. Both sensors feature the latest NXP S32R294 radar microcontroller with 16nm FINFET technology and NXP TEF82xx fully integrated RFCMOS automotive radar transceiver.

Developed for 4D/PxHD resolution, DRVEGRD 152 is a highly accurate 76-77GHz front radar, targeting the ASIL-B standards for safety and autonomous driving applications. The radar provides multiple operation modes, all having a 100-degree field of view and a range interval of 0.33m to 180m (1.1-590.6ft). Thanks to the exceptional true angular separation using 48 TRX channels, the radar can even detect and differentiate two targets with the same radial distance and the same radial speed. With 2° angular separation, DRVEGRD 152 fills the gap between lower-performance standard MRR and high-end 4D imaging radar sensors. However, it achieves full 4D performance at a remarkably low power of <6W and at a very attractive cost.

DRVEGRD 169 is a 77-81GHz corner radar with four adjustable operation modes. It is an excellent choice for parking applications with some 5cm range gates or for construction- and heavy mining vehicles which require longer ranges of up to 130m.

Both software-defined radars have a significantly boosted processing power, a high point cloud rate, are able to stream 2DFFT data, and target ASIL-B (SEooC) and NCAP standards.
