STATE-OF-THE-ART AIRBORNE SOLUTIONS

BASED ON MOST ADVANCED RADAR TECHNOLOGY


smartmicro airborne radars are based on state-of-the-art 24GHz radar technology. Our sensors operate by sending out a low power microwave beam and capturing all reflections within the antenna beam. Depending on the application, either the shortest distance is reported (altimeter) or a list of all reflectors can be given (proximity warning).

The applied smartmicro radar principle allows precise and stable direct distance measurement at high update rates.

SENSOR DATA INTERFACE

For our airborne radars the physical interfaces RS485 and CAN Bus are available. Our proprietary communication protocol can be utilized for integration in customer systems. We also offer a standard altitude display. If required, the sensor data interface can also be customized, it typically shows the following details:

  • Altitude data of height above ground, vertical speed and the status of measurement being valid/invalid
  • Sensor status, such as total time, cycle duration and number of cycles
  • Self-testing results including all IBIT and CBIT information

Our sensors can be fully remote-controlled by sending commands during the operation. Software updates or modifications can be uploaded to the sensor without disconnection of power cycle.

ALTITUDE OR SINK RATE DISPLAYS

We recommend the RedLion display which is configured to display either the altitude or the sink rate measured by Micro Radar Altimeters. The display can be connected to the altimeter via RS485 data bus on a plug-and-play basis.

INSTALLATION BRACKETS
